Window Box (Baby Quilt)

More Riley Blake Animal Life Fabric...I love this print! Such a fun design, it makes me happy to look, touch and sew on it!

Another close up....isn't it just the cutest!

I love this quilt and this fabric, I still have 1/2 yard left. Hmmmmm, wonder what I'll do with it?

This quilt used 4 fat quarters and 3/4 yard of the animal print. The back is 1 1/2 yards of flannel and 1/2 yard for the binding. If you are worried about having a little extra in case of mistakes buy 2 fat quarters or 3/8 yards of the four colors of your choice.
1. Animal print blocks are 6 1/2" square
2. Of each of the four fat quarters cut 8 strips that are 2 1/2 x 6 1/2"   and 8 strips that are 2 1/2 x  10 1/2"  (be careful because fat quarters give only enough there really wasn't any extra for mistakes).
3. Sew 6 1/2 x 2 1/2" strips to top and bottom of each square (animal print),  and then sew 10 1/2 x 2 1/2" strips to sides (animal print).
4.  After each animal print has been framed with fabric sew all squares together.
5. Cut 2 1/2" by width of animal print fabric, which should be about 42" from selvage to selvage for outside edges and attach. You may have to piece two of the sides of smashing after you attach top and bottom smashing (outside edge fabric) because quilt will measure 40 by 40" after all window boxes are sewn together.
(All seems are 1/4 ")
