Fairly Fast Flying Geese

Here are some simple instructions if you want to try out these fast flying geese

First, cut two squares that measure 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 " They will be your background. Second, cut a strip measuring 4 x 8".

Third, iron the 4 x 8" strip in half so it becomes a 4 inch square.

Fourth, place the ironed fabric in between the two other squares with the folded piece at the top. The raw edges are all matching up. I've folded the top over so that you can see that it does not reach the top of the fabric. You will be sewing a 1/4" seam along the edge that is above where my fingers are.

I've folded it back so you can see where you will sew.

After you have sewn it press seam down and then open fabric up, this is what it will look like.

Fold fabric down and press to achieve a triangle.

Trim sides to even everything out. I trimmed mine down to 3/8" above triangle and trimmed bottom and sides off until it measured  8" wide and 4" high.

Here is the finished product.

  1. Very clever. I love the little pockets created by the triangles. I have not seen that before. It made me get some paper out and try it immediately. This may just have to be my next project. Thank you!
